v2track welcomes Simon Barton

Simon Barton has joined the v2track team to take on the role of Business Development Manager. Simon brings a wealth of experience to v2track after spending most of his working life immersed in helicopter rescue and firefighting operations. His knowledge of integrated air and ground operations is extensive. 

“I’m excited to be working with the v2track team.  They are well known for their quality platform and products, great pricing, and their customer support is second to none” Barton says.

Simon’s working career started in the NZ Navy and progressed to rescue helicopters. He was the Director of Operations with the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust and the Helicopter Rescue Crew Trainer with the Philips Search and Rescue Trust – teaching crewing and winching skills. Simon was also instrumental in setting up the Childflight NZ Trust around that time.

In recent years, Simon had a sales role with a New Zealand-based tracking company, and he was the National Air Advisor for the St John Ambulance Air Desk. In addition to airborne operations, his passion is firefighting, and he has been a volunteer fireman for over a decade. Simon is currently a Lieutenant in the Buninyong Mt Helen Fire Brigade, combating fires in Ballarat, Victoria.

“Simon will be a valuable addition to our team,” says Kylan Diprose, Director of v2track. “His knowledge of the firefighting industry, particularly the ground operations, is invaluable, and his background in aerial rescue and the tracking industry is extensive. Simon is passionate about what he does and a welcome addition to the v2track team.”
