Shaw’s Wire Ropes are New Zealand’s wire rope, rigging, lifting and forestry specialists. Shaw’s have been using v2track for 2 years to monitor mobile plant on long term hire, company vehicles and their aircraft. All hire invoices are based on data from v2track which can also be accessed directly by Shaw’s customers.
Many of the locations Shaw’s operate in have limited cellular coverage but they are able to track or visit their hire machines at any time without having to contact clients for directions.
Shaw’s Wire Ropes Director Jonny Schick says “The best thing about ‘v2’ is the combination of cellular and satellite allowing cost-effective tracking at very close intervals, unlike other systems where this can become either cost prohibitive with Satellite, or unreliable on Cell.
With often long and varied flight plans in remote areas having v2track for our helicopter is a no brainer. We are cost effectively tracking at 15 second intervals. The transition between cell and satellite appears seamless and we are not aware of any disruptions to date.
