Super Air have a mixed fleet of modern aircraft that are well equiped for the aerial application industry. To improve operational safety of flight crew and reducing paper in the cockpit while minimising costs, Super Air utilise v2track as their tracking system of choice.
Super Air is a fully owned subsidiary of Ballance Agri-Nutrients and specialises in fixed-wing aerial application of solid fertiliser and lime. Based across the North Island of New Zealand, Super Air operates a fleet of around 15 modern aircraft with a mixture of Fletcher, Cresco and Air Tractors focused on supporting the needs of New Zealand farmers.
Over the last year, Super Air have been increasing the utilisation of the v2track platform capabilities relating to v2track’s EFB companion app (v2connect) with the ongoing development of customised forms.
The primary goal of Super Air’s customised forms is to allow pilots to access and update job bookings and daily flight records in real time (or near real time) while on the job. This significantly reduces the amount of evening work historically required, this was transferring paperwork to online systems at the end of a long day flying. The end goal of the project is replacing as much cockpit paperwork by electronic customised forms as practically possible. And so the next step in current development on Super Air’s EFB forms are sections for recording engine trends and a maintenance record.
“We have been using v2track as our online tracking system for the last 3 years. We are very happy with its functionality.
With the inception of the new EFB, we will be reducing the extra admin side of the job for the pilots, thus helping us manage their fatigue, especially in the busy season. It will enable them to enter flight details, trends and maintenance times all on the same app which will then auto populate the appropriate programmes in the background.” – Kevin Young, Chief Pilot
